WWANSVC service manages mobile broadband (GSM & CDMA) data card/embedded module adapters and connections by auto configuring the networks. Sometimes your computer has been disabled or it has been set to manual enable, there are some steps to identify if this is the issue and to fix it.

This reboot prompts the cellular device to re-establish a connection with the cell tower. After the reboot, your TRI CASCADE VOS 5G Dongle should successfully connect. This method is also commonly used with cellular phones.

How to upgrade VOS 5G dongle firmware?

Preparing for Firmware Update

Before starting the firmware update for the VOS dongle, first verify the current firmware version on the dongle. Then, download the corresponding FOTA update package from following table of firmware versions.

1. Confirm current firmware version: Log into the Web UI, go to the FIRMWARE UPGRADE page, and check the “Current Version” field. The firmware version should be displayed as either “RXMG1.20.00.326.71_0R19” or “RXMG1.20.00.326.72_0R19.”

2. Refer to the table for firmware versions: Use the table provided below to locate the necessary FOTA package for download based on the firmware version, you can click to download directly from the FOTA Package.

Starting the Dongle Firmware Update

Please follow the steps below to start the firmware update.

1. Log into the Web UI: The default credentials are Username: admin, Password: admin.

2. Navigate to the “FIRMWARE UPGRADE” Page: Once logged in, go to the “FIRMWARE UPGRADE” page.

3. Select “Upgrade from Local”: On the “FIRMWARE UPGRADE” page, choose the “Upgrade From Local option”.

4. Select the FOTA Package: In the “Select File” option, browse for and select the downloaded FOTA package file.

5. Start the Firmware Update: After loading the FOTA package file, click on Start Firmware Upgrade to begin the FOTA update process.

6. FOTA Update Progress: The Web UI will display the progress as the FOTA package is uploaded to the dongle.

7. Firmware Update and Initialization:

Once the FOTA package is loaded, the dongle will begin the firmware update and initialization process.

(1) When the dongle is preparing for a firmware update, the LED will initially display a solid red light.

(2) During the firmware update process, the LED will flash green. Please ensure the dongle maintains a stable connection to the host device throughout the update.

(3) Once the firmware update is complete, the dongle will automatically restart, and the LED will display a solid red light during the reboot process.

(4) After the reboot is finished, the LED will flash red to indicate it is searching for a network. If the connection is successful, the LED will switch to a green light.

8. Verify Firmware Update: After the dongle completes the firmware update, log back into the Web UI FIRMWARE UPGRADE page to confirm the firmware version has updated to “RXMG1.20.00.326.72.34_0R19.”
